Who we are

Dowman Plumbing Solutions ("we", "us") is a Wellington plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying business. This policy covers the personal information we collect through this website, by phone and email, and while doing work for you.

What we collect

When you send our enquiry form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the address of the job, the type of work you need, your description of it, and any photos you upload.

When you phone or email us, we keep the details you give us. When we do work for you, we keep records of the job, the quote, the invoice and any certificates issued.

Why we collect it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, quote, book and carry out the work, invoice you, honour our workmanship guarantee, and meet our legal obligations, such as tax records and the certification required for gasfitting and drainlaying work. We do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to keep in touch, and we never sell it.

Who sees it

Our own team. Form enquiries are stored on the server that hosts this website and are emailed to our office, which uses Google Workspace.

We share details with others only when the job needs it, for example a council for consents and inspections, a supplier for parts, or a specialist we arrange for you, or where the law requires it.

This website

This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking, and it stores nothing about you unless you send the enquiry form. The Google reviews section is provided by Trustindex and loads content from Google, so those services may receive your IP address when the section displays.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as we need them for the work, our guarantee and the law, for example seven years for tax records. Enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted once we no longer need them.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Seeing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact our privacy officer at office@dowmansolutions.co.nz or on 027 759 3949. We will respond within 20 working days.

Concerns

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
